Position Status: Permanent
Contractual Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Contractual Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Salary: BEX07 £25,137 - £26,520
Post Start Date: 12th July 2021
Closing Date: Midday Friday 23rd April
We are looking for a well-motivated, skilled and practical person to become our Premises Manager and take pride in the school environment. The role is crucial to the smooth running of the premises, combining the traditional caretaking role with duties for the maintenance and development of the site.
This all year round post may include early mornings, late evenings and out of hours emergency on call attendance as well as physical work outside.
Key responsibilities of the role include being the main key holder, opening and securing the school, general maintenance of the school and ensuring health and safety compliance, security and cleanliness standards are upheld at all times. The role also includes responsibility for the management and day-to-day operation of all premises, with line management responsibility for the Assistant Caretaker and a small team of cleaning staff.
Typical hours will be 7:00 - 14:30 to be agreed with the Principal. There will be a requirement to be flexible and at times there may also be the opportunity to work extra hours for specific events.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a school setting
- The ability to lead a small team of staff
- Strong IT, verbal and written communication skills and a flexible approach
- The ability to work under pressure, use initiative and manage conflicting priorities
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance and health and safety compliance
