St Augustine of Canterbury C of E Primary School
St Augustine of Canterbury C of E Primary School is a ‘Good’ Church School (SIAMS October 2022) and is graded a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted (June 2019). The school vision – ‘Aspiration, Character, Excellence, through the Fruit of the Spirit’ - drives improvement at all levels and is at the heart of all school endeavours. The school is guided by and based upon Christian values and principles, committed to the education of the whole child.
Provision for Personal Development is excellent across the school and is a golden thread in all that we do. The school’s vision ensures that pupil’s social and emotional development has a high priority. Pupils develop a strong understanding of life in modern Britain and are taught to respect differences and appreciate different cultures. Children at St Augustine develop their confidence, aspiration, resilience and strength of character ready for the next stage in their education and future life challenges.
We strive to achieve high academic standards for all children and believe this is best achieved through teaching that is engaging, innovative and personalised to children’s needs. We value learning both in and out of school. We provide a programme of educational visits, with every class undertaking an outing at least once every half-term. The school has a very close relationship with our community, including the parish of St Augustine’s Church.
